Impatti che uccidono. Ipotesi sul collasso di una civiltà.

A search into the real causes of the Sumerian-Akkadian civilization collapse led to the discovery of a series of clues that evoke a "gray area" in the Ancient Near East chronology that has been dated with radiocarbon dating methods to have happened around 2200 +/- 200 BC .
The pieces collected suggest that a natural disaster of unprecedented proportions had upset a large area of the planet causing an earthquake, a flood, a drought and famine. These disasters however were just the after effects of this disaster.

The impact crater, Umm al Binni, in southern Iraq testifies to the large size of a meteorite that crashed into the north of the Persian Gulf. The impact caused a system crisis and induced a tsunami. Its effect would have reverberated throughout southern Mesopotamia to southern Levant, the Aegean-Anatolians region, Egypt and central Asia
.
You cannot exclude the possibility that there were not many meteorites that impacted the area, for example those that occur from a comet. It should be remembered that some ancient sources talk about a great flood, and also a rain of fire that poured down on the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

The numerous scattered craters that have impacted the planet confirms that this type of disaster has occurred many times. We cannot hide from it: it could happen again.
